He is currently Senior Visiting Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), Senior Fellow at the Global Green Growth Institute, Advisor on sustainability initiatives to the World Economic Forum and Senior Advisor to the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).

He helped to found the Institute of Social and Ethical Accountability in 1995, acting as its CEO from 2002-2009, and was Founding Chair of the Ethical Trading Initiative.
