Alfred Frederik Elias Grenander, (26 June 1863 in Skövde, Sweden – 14 March 1931 in Berlin), was one of the most prominent architects during the first building period of the Berlin U-Bahn in the first half of the twentieth century.
In 1868, engineer John G Grönvall founded a mechanical workshop and foundry in Skövde, Sweden.
Volvo cabs are manufactured in the north of Sweden in Umeå and Ghent, Belgium, while the engines are made in the central town of Skövde.

The engines are assembled in production plants in the cities of Trémery and Douvrin for PSA in France, at the Ford Dagenham plant in England, and the Ford-owned Volvo Engine Plant in Skövde Sweden.
In June 2012, SR Skaraborg announced that the band was to become disestablished following the 2012 summer tour, with their final appearance at Matfestivalen in Skövde in August that year.
