Bonnie Hayes

In 1982, the band was signed by Slash Records and at the behest of Bob Biggs, the band changed their name to "Bonnie Hayes with the Wild Combo" and released their first album entitled Good Clean Fun, a New Wave/rock offering.

Irresistible Bliss

Over the objections of his bandmates and his record label, Slash Records/Warner Bros., frontman Mike Doughty (then billed as "M. Doughty") hired producer David Kahne (Fishbone, The Bangles, Sublime, Tony Bennett, Sugar Ray, The Strokes); he was intent on following up the wild sonics of Ruby Vroom with a tightly-wound, trembly, New Wave inspired record.

The Days of Wine and Roses

Produced by Chris D. (of The Flesh Eaters/The Divine Horsemen), it was recorded in Los Angeles in September 1982 and released later that year on Chris D.'s Ruby Records, which was a division of Slash Records.

Under My Wheels

It was re-recorded in 1988 by Cooper as a duet with Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses for the Slash Records release The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, which came out after the release of the Raise Your Fist and Yell album, with its supporting US tour being opened by Guns N' Roses.

Violent Femmes

2005 saw the release of two collections of past work—a CD called Permanent Record: The Very Best of Violent Femmes on Slash/Rhino and a DVD, Permanent Record – Live & Otherwise from Rhino, which showcases a concert performance from 1991, along with many of the group's videos.
