After mixed fortunes in the group stage, Norway played a memorable semifinal against Sweden which they won by 3–2 after extra time with a goal from Solveig Gulbrandsen.
The team included Norwegian national footballers Solveig Gulbrandsen, Trine Rønning, Christine Colombo Nilsen and Isabell Herlovsen.
By the end of the 2011 she had claimed 20 goals, bringing her total to 125, one goal behind Solveig Gulbrandsen, and her place in the all-time list to 9th.
Her team Kolbotn became the Norwegian Cup holders after winning the Cup Final in November 2007.
