A Blaze in the Northern Sky was recorded during August 1991 at Creative Studios in Kolbotn; the same studio where Mayhem recorded their influential Deathcrush EP.

Kolbotn

The team included Norwegian national footballers Solveig Gulbrandsen, Trine Rønning, Christine Colombo Nilsen and Isabell Herlovsen.

Striker Rebecca Angus from Middlesbrough, England also played four seasons for Kolbotn in 2007-10.

Kolbotn finished in third place in the Toppserien league for three seasons 2009-11 while coached by Dan Eggen.

Nocturno Culto

Ted Skjellum (born 4 March 1972 in Kolbotn, Oppegård), also known by the stage names Nocturno Culto, Nocturno or Kveldulv, is a Norwegian musician best known as the vocalist, lead guitarist, and partial bassist (shared with Fenriz) of the influential black metal band Darkthrone.

Solveig Gulbrandsen

Her team Kolbotn became the Norwegian Cup holders after winning the Cup Final in November 2007.

She has previously played for Kolbotn, Stabæk and FC Gold Pride, and the Norwegian national team where she was capped 154 times and won the 2000 Summer Olympics.


Hulda Garborg

During the period at Kolbotn, the family often visited Kristiania, they stayed longer periods in Dießen am Ammersee, Fürstenfeldbruck and Berlin in Germany, and also lived one winter in Paris.

Lisa-Marie Woods

After a successful American season with many goals scored, she transferred back to Norway and the elite Toppserien club Kolbotn in August 2009.
