Later that same year, at the age of 17, Lemon began his professional baseball career in the farm system of the Cleveland Indians as a member of the Oswego Netherlands of the Canadian-American League and later that year, the Middle Atlantic League's Springfield Indians.
After the 1956–57 season, Imlach moved to professional hockey, hired by the Boston Bruins as general manager of their Springfield Indians farm team.

Bedier went on to play three seasons of professional hockey, including 112 games in the American Hockey League with the New Haven Nighthawks, Springfield Indians and Moncton Alpines, and 60 games in the International Hockey League with the Toledo Goaldiggers.
Spending most of the early part of his professional career with Maple Leaf farm teams in Dallas, New Brunswick and St. Catharines, Boudreau also spent significant time playing for the Springfield Indians (for whom he won his only scoring championship in 1988), the Fort Wayne Komets and the Nova Scotia Oilers.
Brydon's last two professional seasons were spent with the American Hockey League's Springfield Indians and the Pittsburgh Hornets.
He played for the following Minor League teams during his career: St. Catharines Teepees, Cleveland Barons, Quebec Aces, Springfield Indians, Pittsburgh Hornets and Buffalo Bisons.
He would go on to play with the Ottawa Nationals, Belleville Mohawks, Belleville Quintes of the OHA Senior League, Greensboro Generals of the EHL, the AHL,Springfield Kings where he back-stopped the Kings to a Calder Cup title in 1975, the Springfield Indians also of the AHL, Napanee Comets and Lindsay Lancers of the OHA Sr.
