In the winter, during refit season, this route is used so that both MV Armorique and MV Bretagne can be moved between the Portsmouth to St Malo route and also the Plymouth to Roscoff route.
On 28 March 2011, she was involved in a collision with a fishing boat near the Minquiers whilst en route from St Malo in foggy conditions.
Its name is derived from the Breton port of St Malo (also the root of "Malvinas" - "Malouines), due to the French settlement established at Port Louis in 1764.
Condor 10 returned to the fleet in March 2002 to replace the Condor 9 on the St Malo - Channel Island service and to fully compete with the existing fast car ferry service of Emeraude Lines.
