Condor Ferries

Condor 10 returned to the fleet in March 2002 to replace the Condor 9 on the St Malo - Channel Island service and to fully compete with the existing fast car ferry service of Emeraude Lines.

Emeraude Ferries

Emeraude Ferries was a shipping company which operated vehicle and passenger ferries between the French city of Saint-Malo and the Channel Islands.

Competition arrived in March 2003 when Condor Ferries were granted a licence to carry cars from Jersey to St Malo.

HD Ferries

HD Ferries was established in January 2007 following the cessation of Emeraude Lines in November 2005.

HSC Condor 10

Condor's use of the Condor 10 on the St Malo-Channel Islands route and their aggressive marketing and fare structure for the service was one of the reasons for the decline of Emeraude Lines which eventually closed down.

MV Mariam

Venture 84 entered service as a vessel of the French ferry operator Emeraude Lines in April 1983, and was renamed Trident.

Built as Venture 84, the ship was in service with the French ferry operator Emeraude Lines from 1983 to 1996, serving a route between the Channel Islands and France.
