In 2010 Somers started working with local schools and St Oswald's Church, Ashbourne to raise money to buy glasses for Pachacuti's producers.
The main gates of St Oswald's Church, Malpas were formerly attributed to the brothers, but are now considered to be of a later date.
He died 2 October 1659, and was buried in the chancel of Malpas church.

The Bernician arms were fictional but inspired by Bede's brief description of a flag used on the tomb of St Oswald in the 7th century.
Believed to have been constructed in the early 14th century as the official residence of the rector at St Oswald's Church, probably by two of the younger sons of Marmaduke de Thweg.
