Stuart recently auditioned again for the great Ken Loach, who was kind enough to send his audition tape to his son Jim Loach which lead to him being cast in the 2011 film Oranges and Sunshine, playing the character Bill.

His film career started back in 1992, when he auditioned for Jim Sheridan, and won a role in the powerful, political film In the Name of the Father.

At this time he was also a popular and leading actor at Oldham Theatre Workshop, under the guidance of David Johnson.
