Alloteropsis semialata, known commonly as black seed grass, cockatoo grass, donkersaad gras, swartsaadgras, tweevingergras, and isi quinti, is a perennial grass distributed throughout the tropics and subtropics of Africa, Asia and Australasia, including Pacific Islands and Madagascar.
Dracaena draco, the Canary Islands dragon tree or drago, is a subtropical tree-like plant in the genus Dracaena, native to the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Madeira, and locally in western Morocco, and introduced to the Azores.
Its unique location at the meeting of several different climates (subtropical, Chihuahuan Desert, Gulf Coast, and Great Plains) has garnered a well-deserved reputation as a birding delight.
