Bartley Green

Brown-backed Solitaire

One singing bird was found in Miller Canyon, in the Huachuca Mountains of Southeastern Arizona, and documented by the youth birding Victor Emanuel Nature Tours' Camp Chiricahua in July 2009.

Cape May Bird Observatory

Sibley wrote his classic field guide, The Sibley Guide to Birds, while he was living and birding in Cape May Point.

Digiscoping

He spread his findings through birding internet discussion forums and one member, French birdwatcher Alain Fossé, coined the name “digiscoping” to describe the technique.

They were joined in the effort by Connecticut Fund for the Environment (CFE), Citizens for Easton, the Easton garden club, hiking and mountain biking groups, birding enthusiasts, naturalists and others including actor/philanthropist Paul Newman and his family.

World Series of Birding

The idea for the World Series of Birding came from Pete Dunne, one of America's foremost authors on birding and natural history, and currently the director of the Cape May Bird Observatory.
