A report in December 2010 suggested that Sundar C. would quit acting, after his films successively bombed at the box office, and concentrate on directing only.
Ullam Kollai Poguthae is a South Indian Tamil film released in 2001 directed by Sundar C.
The original plot point was recommended by Singampuli, one of Sundar C's assistant director and Sundar wrote the script of the film within a week, before discussing the line with actor Ajith Kumar.
The film featured Sundar C. in the lead role, and finally released after several postponements on October 15, 2010.
The story revolves around Puli Sundar C who is a local rowdy and the son of a math teacher Prakash Raj.
Produced on Srushti Cinemas banner which earlier produced Sundar C. starrer Perumal, this movie has singer Mano, Sherrif and Ganja Karuppu in pivotal roles.
