Laplante was awarded 3rd prizes at the inaugural edition of the Sydney Competition and the XV Long-Thibaud Competition.
She was a juror at the Sydney International Piano Competition in 1988 and 1992, and at other international music competitions.
Konstantin burst onto the music scene in August 2008 as Winner of the Sydney International Piano Competition.
The 10th Sydney International Piano Competition took place at Sydney's Seymour Centre and Opera House from July 4 to 21, 2012 and it was contested by 36 pianists from 14 countries.

Mr. Gowen has served as a judge for several international piano competitions, including the Kapell, the Gina Bachauer, and the Sydney, and he was a member of the Advisory Committee that created and ran the Seventeen Magazine/General Motors National Concerto Competition.
She was prized at the 1970 Enescu (Bucharest) and 1974 Smetana (Plzeň) competitions, and ranked 6th at the inaugural edition of the Sydney Competition.
In August 2008 Dank was awarded with the third prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition including special awards by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for the best performance of the two concertos in the final, and awards for the best performance of a work by Debussy and a work by Rachmaninov.
