November 5 – The College of Advanced Technology (DTU) is inaugurated with Hans Christian Ørsted, who had also been one of the driving forces behind its establishment, as its first principal.
Dr de Noronha Pissarra has worked at numerous institutions, including King's College, London, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA and the Centre for Biotechnology of the Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby.
On April 30, 2004, he was appointed Honorary Doctor (doctor technices, honoris causa) at the Technical University of Denmark.
Karl James Jalkanen, PhD (Chassell, Michigan, 1958-) is a researcher in Molecular Biophysics at the Technical University of Denmark in the Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology.
Jørgen Lindegaard graduated with a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark in 1975 and immediately joined Philips Telekommunikation, a subsidiary of the Dutch Philips conglomerate, where he stayed until 1977.
From 1985 to 1988 Bols did PhD with Professor Inge Lundt at the Technical University of Denmark.

He attended high school (Gentofte Statskole) from 1977-1980, and took a degree as chemical engineer at the Technical University of Denmark from 1980-1985.

They were subsequently known for their large public buildings and restoration projects including the Hans Christian Ørsted Institute (1955–1962) in Copenhagen, the Technical University of Denmark in Lundtofte (1961–1975), the Panum Institute, Copenhagen (1966–1986) and the South Campus of the University of Copenhagen on Amager (1972–1979).
Before that, he was a visiting professor at a number of renowned European technical universities such as the ENST- ParisTech, the ETH-Zurich or Technical University of Denmark.
From 1959 to 1969, he was employed at Regnecentralen, the Danish computing institute, while at the same time giving lectures at the Niels Bohr Institute and the Technical University of Denmark.
