More recently he worked with Roger Daltrey (The Who), Ruby Turner and Jimmy Nail for the Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concert in 2008 and with Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) for the Sunday for Sammy concert at Newcastle City Hall in 2010.
Beneficiaries over the years have included the British Red Cross, Oxfam, Teenage Cancer Trust, Comic Relief, Sport Relief, Matt Hampson Trust, Rushey Mead Foundation, Rainbows and the Leicester charity LOROS (the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice).
In 2009 comedian Bill Bailey was guest of honour at an event designed to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
