Burgbering 1-20, former railwaymen’s settlement Neue Kolonie (monumental zone), from about 1920-1925, housing estate laid out in a ring shape in traditional local style with a gatehouse, six semidetached houses and a terrace of six bungalows, along with a central yard/garden enclosed by walls with gates or small outbuildings.
The land near the school that was used for athletic fields has been redeveloped into townhouses.

The Adelphi Building, in London, was a speculative neoclassical terraced housing development by the Adam brothers but is now largely demolished, leaving Mellerstain House as an important record of Robert Adam's work.
It was first developed during the early part of the 19th century when a handful of terraced houses were built to accommodate locals working in factories and mines and the area was created in 1845 out of land from Darlaston, Bilston and Wednesbury.
The area now consists mostly of Edwardian terraced houses, but also includes schools and a number of churches.
As such it includes the densely populated area along and surrounding the Oxford Road as far as the foot of Norcot Hill, which is a typical example of the British town's rows of terraced houses, as well as the more affluent area to the north of the Bath Road and alongside Tilehurst Road as far as Prospect Park.
It occupies a typical Georgian terraced house which was Charles Dickens' home from 25 March 1837 (a year after his marriage) to December 1839.
Frank Whittle (1907–96), the jet engine pioneer, was born in Earlsdon in a terraced house on Newcombe Road, which is marked out by a small grey commemorative plaque.
