In an article for The Futurist magazine (March-April, 1987), Greenly credited the Alvin Toffler book, The Third Wave, as being a catalyst in his decision to change his life and become an active part of the Information Age.
While at Elias he contributed to such albums as Robert Downey Jr.’s solo record “The Futurist”, Tricky “Vulnerable”, Lou Rawls “Christmas,” and Jonathan Elias’ “The Prayer Cycle” which included several artist such as Sting, Alanis Morissette, Perry Farrell, Salif Keita, Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Jonathan Davis of Korn and Jon Anderson.
That year, Marinetti discovered some allies in three young painters, (Umberto Boccioni, Carlo Carrà, Luigi Russolo), who adopted the Futurist philosophy.
In a 2012 interview, Vega noted several influences on his composition Wormsongs, including the futurist writings of philosopher Max More and a text from the artist Georg Hobmeier.
The futurist Hans Moravec (a prominent figure in the transhumanist movement) proposed that the Laws of Robotics should be adapted to "corporate intelligences" — the corporations driven by AI and robotic manufacturing power which Moravec believes will arise in the near future.
