That year, Marinetti discovered some allies in three young painters, (Umberto Boccioni, Carlo Carrà, Luigi Russolo), who adopted the Futurist philosophy.

As literary critic for El Sol he went to Italy in 1928 and struck up friendships with such fascist thinkers as Giuseppe Bottai, Giovanni Gentile, Curzio Malaparte, and Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, eventually becoming an adherent of fascist beliefs himself.
He was one of the signatories of the 1929 Aeropainting Manifesto, signed also by Benedetta Cappa, Depero, Fillia, Marinetti, Prampolini and others, who are among its major representatives.
He contributed to the Futurist meals formulated in Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and Fillia's 1930 Manifesto of Futurist Cooking: the dish pollofiat was his idea and he co-designed the interior of the Taverna Santopalato, the prime establishment for futurist cuisine.
