The Magic Numbers

The Stodarts are the children of a Scottish father and a Portuguese mother and were born in Trinidad in the Caribbean, where their mother was an opera singer and had her own TV show.

When the family fled an Islamic coup attempt there in 1990, they were raised in New York.

Their Japanese tour was featured as a side documentary on Jonathan Ross's Japanorama.


Danny and the Champions of the World

Danny George Wilson recorded ‘Tougher Than The Rest’ for a Limited Edition Bruce Springsteen tribute 7” EP for Record Store Day 2011, alongside fellow contributors The Magic Numbers, Willie Nile and Billy Franks.

Dream Brother

The title was also used for a biography based around the lives of both Jeff and Tim Buckley written posthumously by journalist David Browne, as well as an album featuring covers of some of their most famous by several artists including The Magic Numbers and Sufjan Stevens.

Morning Runner

The band spent much of 2005 touring, playing with the likes of Ian Brown, Bloc Party, The Magic Numbers, The Pogues, and supporting Coldplay on several of their Twisted Logic Tour dates, and built up a solid fanbase as a result.
