The Thorns are an American acoustic rock band formed in 2002 as a project of Matthew Sweet, Pete Droge, and Shawn Mullins.
In 2003, Droge formed the supergroup, The Thorns, with artists Matthew Sweet and Shawn Mullins and, that same year, released another solo album, Skywatching.
The thorns in their sides were the Caïmans, a trio of rough boys described as "more stupid than nasty".
