They quickly made a name for themselves, winning the Tokyo FM King of Comedy Tournament and making it to the finals of NHK's Shinjin Engei Taisho both in 1999.
After forming the band in 2007, Stereopony's three members Aimi (vocals/guitar), Nohana (bass), and Shiho (drums) performed on Tokyo FM's School of Lock! program, and were soon signed to Sony Music Japan's gr8!

As part of the involvement with KDDI's "Meet the Music" campaign, Superfly would have performed "Sunshine Sunshine" at the Okinawa Namura Hall in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, on March 20, with the performance broadcast live over FM52 radio stations Tokyo FM, J-Wave, and FM Okinawa.
"Morris" was performed live on June 19, 2011, for Father's Day on Tokyo FM, as she wrote the song with memories of her father in mind.
