Wurzelpeter is a herbal liqueur with all the flavour of the forest and is a product of Franz Wilhelm Langguth Erben, with its headquarters in Traben-Trarbach, a municipality in the district Bernkastel-Wittlich.
At the 6.8 km point is Kövenig station, where in the summer months, a passenger ferry runs to Enkirch on the opposite bank.
Koch studied medicine at the Universities of Jena and Marburg, and afterwards was a Stadtphysicus (state physician) in Trarbach and Kaiserslautern (1798).
