His death sparked a new rows of hostilities between the two branches, but Uesugi Kagekatsu invaded Sado in 1589, putting an end to clan's rule.
However, in 1578, he was attacked in his castle at Ōtate by Uesugi Kagekatsu—Kagetora's respective brother-in-law—and was subsequently defeated.

She had two sons and two daughters by Nagao Masakage: their oldest son in childhood, so their second son, Kagekatsu, was adopted into the Uesugi clan, as reportedly were their daughters.
