As part of the School of Excellence program; the donation of 3 soccer trophies to Akwa Ibom State government for soccer tournaments among all post primary institutions in the state, the institution of the first youth challenge competition where the winner was crowned at the 2008 Convention, the restart of Mbuk Akwa Ibom newsletter publication and the commissioning of infrastructure design for the building of Akwa Ibom Learning Center in Uyo.
Boren began his academic career as department head at the University of Nsukka College of Education in Uyo, Nigeria from 1979-1980.

Akwa Ibom Airport is an airport in Oron serving Uyo, the capital city of the Akwa Ibom state in Nigeria and other neighbouring towns in the state, including Eket, Ikot Ekpene and Oron.
He then attended the School of Arts and Science, Uyo where he was from 1977-1979 and finished with the GCE A Level.
Prior to his birth, his father Chief Nsentip Ekown had signed a treaty with the British Consul – Sir Robert Brooks which established Uyo as a British Colonial Administrative station.
