The château de Mesnil-Voisin is a French château, located at the heart of the hamlet of "Mesnil-Voisin" in the commune of Bouray-sur-Juine in the department of Essonne.
A Trumpeter's Lullaby has been recorded by Roger Voisin, Harry Freistadt, Rafael Méndez, Doc Severinsen, Al Hirt, and Susan Slaughter, among others.
The exercise had its parallel in France where at about the same time Le Corbusier undertook a similar exercise for the auto-maker Voisin, apparently encountering similarly lacklustre customer demand in return for his effort.

Claire Voisin (born 4 March 1962) is a French professor of mathematics and was director of research at the Institut de mathématiques de Jussieu at the University of Paris VI: Pierre et Marie Curie for several years.
Among her clients were Madame de Grancey, an acquaintance of Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, and the marquis de Feuquieres, previously the client of La Voisin, who reportedly hired her to summon a demon by the name of Prince Babel.
On 16 February 1917, he brought back his flaming Voisin to a landing at Monfalcone; he received a Bronze Medal for Military Valor for saving the craft and himself.

King Pausole, a character in Pierre Louÿs' Les aventures du roi Pausole (The Adventures of King Pausole, published in 1901), issued a similar pair of edicts: I. — Ne nuis pas à ton voisin. II. — Ceci bien compris, fais ce qu'il te plaît. ("Do not harm your neighbor; this being well understood, do that which pleases you.") Although Gardner noted the similarity of the rede to King Pausole's words, Silver Ravenwolf believes it is more directly referencing Crowley.
