Bob Kelley

In 1942 he joined radio station WJR in Detroit where he broadcast the games of the Michigan Wolverines, while commuting back to Cleveland on Sundays to do the Rams' games.

Bob Thornbladh

After retiring from coaching, Thornbladh became the color commentator on WJR radio broadcasts of Michigan Wolverines football games.

He later served as the color commentator for Michigan football broadcasts on WJR radio.

Mike Lucci

Lucci also appeared as himself in the 1968 film Paper Lion, and from 1976-78 served as color commentator for Lions broadcasts on WJR radio.

Paul Keels

The following year, he moved to Detroit to work for WJR Radio to call games for the NBA Detroit Pistons (1980–1981), and then to WWJ Radio in to call football and basketball for the University of Michigan from 1981–1987.

Rick Rizzs

His tenure with the Mariners was only interrupted by a two-year stint from 1992 to 1994 providing game coverage of the Detroit Tigers, teaming with Bob Rathbun on WJR.
