Frank Teschemacher (March 13, 1906 in Kansas City, Missouri – March 1, 1932 in Chicago) was an American jazz clarinetist and alto-saxophonist, associated with the "Austin High" gang (along with Jimmy McPartland, Bud Freeman and others).
In the 1990s, the Culver City Redevelopment Agency and the City of Los Angeles renovated the building to use as a community theater by the The Actors' Gang.
In addition to his screen work, Mercurio remains active in the theatre, most notably as a member of The Actors' Gang theatre in Los Angeles, which was founded by acclaimed actor Tim Robbins.
The Gang's latest production is an adaptation of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, adapted and performed by Brian T. Finney and directed by Keythe Farley.
