The Wanamaker Mile is an indoor mile race held annually at the Millrose Games in New York City's Madison Square Garden, until recently when it was moved to The Armory in Manhattan.

The race was held every year at 10:00 p.m. This was a tradition started by the legendary sports announcer Ted Husing.

It is still raced on the world class level, but usually only at select occasions, like the famous Wanamaker Mile held annually at the Millrose Games.
Mile run contests remain a key feature of many annual track and field meetings, with long-running series such as the Wanamaker Mile at the Millrose Games, Dream Mile at the Bislett Games, the British Emsley Carr Mile, and the Bowerman Mile at the Prefontaine Classic being among the most prominent.
In 1929, Conger became the first and only athlete to defeat Paavo Nurmi in the mile, beating the "Flying Finn" to the win in the indoor Wanamaker Mile of the Millrose Games.
