In 1978, with Warren Hinckle, Hobbs wrote and illustrated "The Richest Place on Earth," a history of Nevada's Comstock Lode in the 1860s and '70s, published by Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston.

Ralph J. Gleason

Gleason was a contributing editor to Ramparts, a prominent leftist magazine based in San Francisco, but quit after editor Warren Hinckle criticized the city's growing hippie population.
