Washington State Cougars

The Cougar logo was developed in July 1936 by art student Randall Johnson (1915–2007), a graduate of Pullman High, while working as a summer sign painter on campus.

Governor Albert Rosellini had presented him to WSU in 1964 from Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo.

Before becoming WSU head coach in 2005, Tony Bennett spent three seasons at WSU as an assistant to his father, Dick Bennett.


Bob Gambold

He played both football and basketball for the Washington State Cougars, as the team's starting quarterback in 1948, 1949 and 1950, and as a starting forward for basketball coach Jack Friel in those same three seasons.

Joe Eppele

Eppele attended Washington State University where he played college football for the Washington State Cougars from 2006-2009.

Marcus Trufant

After being recruited by then-Washington State Cougars Head Coach Mike Price, he started for all four years and was a member of the 2003 Rose Bowl team that lost to the Oklahoma Sooners in his senior year.
