On May 7, 2013 signed a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, reuniting him with his former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.

On April 1, 2010, Marcus Trufant traveled to Cambridge Elementary School in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada as one of the students there, Tyler Wedel, was one of only four Canadian winners of the NFL Take A Player To School Contest and as a winner Wedel brought Trufant to school to talk to his fellow students about his career and inspirations to play in the NFL.

After being recruited by then-Washington State Cougars Head Coach Mike Price, he started for all four years and was a member of the 2003 Rose Bowl team that lost to the Oklahoma Sooners in his senior year.
