During this time, he also served as the Western Australian chairman of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, director of the Western Australian Bank and president of the Perth Working Men's Association.
In 1982 the Bank of New South Wales changed its name to the Westpac Banking Corporation, in 1996 the building was occupied by Challenge Bank and from 2000 the Bendigo Bank.
