Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland

The Society was created as a community-based, non-profit organisation, founded in 1962 by Judith Wright, Brian Clouston, David Fleay and Kathleen MacArthur.

Richmond Birdwing Conservation Network (RBCN) is an affiliation of individuals, groups and organisations dedicated to the conservation of the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly and its host plants, the Richmond birdwing vine and mountain aristolochia.


Currumbin Valley Reserve

It is owned and managed by Bush Heritage Australia (BHA), to which it was donated in 1999 by the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland according to the wishes of the previous owner, Dr Alex Griffiths, founder of the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

Judith Wright

With David Fleay, Kathleen McArthur and Brian Clouston, Judith Wright was a founding member and, from 1964 to 1976, President, of the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland.

Kathleen McArthur

McArthur was a strong environmentalist and a co-founder, with Judith Wright, David Fleay and Brian Clouston, of the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland in 1962, and served as vice-president from then until 1965.
