This was not the case, and the film was never made, but the origin story of the invisible plane intended for Worlds Collide was later worked into the stand-alone film Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, as noted below.
Ley is a longtime fan of the BBC series Doctor Who and in 2011 he presented and narrated When Worlds Collide, a documentary accompanying the DVD release of The Happiness Patrol, which looked into the series' political and ideological influences over the years.
Contributors to the project include 7 Worlds Collide's 2001 alumni Johnny Marr, Ed O'Brien, Sebastian Steinberg, Phil Selway, Lisa Germano, Tim Finn and Liam Finn; as well as Don McGlashan, Bic Runga, Glenn Richards, KT Tunstall and Wilco members Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone.
The British composer Nigel Clarke has also written a large scale work for Brass Band (2012) inspired by the film and is also entitled When Worlds Collide.
