Whilst sons and daughters of members can join as freemen of the company, only those with a professional maritime background (military or commercial) may become liverymen.


London Nautical School

The school was founded in 1915, as a consequence of the official report into the loss of the Titanic, and today continues to be supported by the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights.

Terence Lewin, Baron Lewin

In retirement Lewin became Chairman of the Trustees of the National Maritime Museum, a Liveryman of the Skinners' Company and of the Shipwrights' Company and an elder brother of Trinity House.

Warington Baden-Powell

He also held membership in The Shipwrights' Company, the Associate of the Institute of Naval Architects Council, the Yacht Racing Association and the Athenaeum Club.
