Planet Cancer was founded by Heidi Schultz Adams, a young adult cancer survivor who was diagnosed at 26 with Ewing's sarcoma, to help young adult cancer patients overcome isolation and connect with other cancer survivors in their age group.
In April, Sky joined Newton-John and dozens of international musicians, actors, athletes and cancer survivors to walk the Great Wall of China in order to raise money for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
Participants in this DVD include leading breast cancer specialists (e.g. Susan Love, Marisa Weiss, Dennis Slamon), top wellness experts (e.g. Dean Ornish, Deepak Chopra, Maoshing Ni) and numerous celebrities breast cancer survivors (e.g. Olivia Newton-John, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Christina Applegate).
The Institute was incorporated with an initial donation of $500 million in 1994 by James E. Stowers and his wife Virginia Stowers, cancer survivors and founders of American Century Investments.
