Filial piety is considered a key virtue in Chinese culture, and it is the main concern of a large number of stories.


Toju Nakae

He taught that the highest virtue was filial piety (kō), and acted upon this, giving up his official post in 1634 in order to return to his home in Takashima, Ōmi to care for his mother.

Tomb of Min Ziqian
