2 unusual facts about gas giant

Diamonds on Jupiter and Saturn

The resulting methane gas rises back to reform clouds to create a cycle of hydrogen-methane cloud forming diamond hail at higher elevations (by lightning) and the resulting diamond hail reforming hydrogen methane as it (the diamond) falls to lower elevations by temperatures for a diamond-hydrogen to methane cycle on these planets of similarity and analog to water-steam-ice cycle in thunderstorms on earth.

Empire Star

He has spent his entire life in a "simplex" society on Rhys, a satellite of a Jovian planet orbiting Tau Ceti.

Gas torus

A gas torus is the setting for Larry Niven's novels The Integral Trees and The Smoke Ring, wherein a gas giant orbiting a neutron star generates a gas torus dense enough for (even human) life; this arrangement is implausible in reality.

Sulfanyl

Sulfanyl is one of the top three sulfur containing gasses in gas giants such as Jupiter and is very likely to be found in brown dwarfs and cool stars.

Foundation and Earth

The sixth planet has very prominent rings, much more so than any known gas giant.

The hypothetical fifth gas giant is an additional planet added by some theorists to recent versions of the Nice model.

Kappa Andromedae b

It is unclear whether Kappa Andromedae b is a gas giant or a brown dwarf—that is, an object massive enough to fuse deuterium but not hydrogen-1.

The Ship Who Sang

In the popular 1992 science fiction computer game, Star Control II, the player can embark on an optional side quest to Beta Corvi, and meet a sentient alien race who inhabit a gas giant there.
