Blake Doyle (born January 26, 1954) is the current hitting coach of the Colorado Rockies.
Nelson Rafael Paulino (born January 23, 1973 in Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal, Dominican Republic) is a former Minor league infielder and current hitting coach in the Boston Red Sox minor league system.
In 2011 The Rockland Boulders, an American professional baseball team based in Pomona, New York in the County of Rockland and member of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball hired Rolls to serve as the club’s hitting coach for the 2011 season.
In 1989 he joined the Philadelphia Phillies as the hitting coach and continued in that position until 1996.
Later he worked as a hitting coach for Houston in 1988 and spent six seasons as a hitting coach in the American League for the Seattle Mariners (1989–1992) and Milwaukee Brewers (1993–1994) before start a six-year stint with the San Francisco Giants as a hitting coach and outfield coach (1995–2002), as he guided National League MVP Award winners Jeff Kent (2000) and Barry Bonds (2001 and 2002).
Since then, he's journeyed as a hitting coach with the Tucson Toros of the Golden Baseball League in 2009, the North American League Schaumburg Flyers in 2010, and the Kevin Costner owned Lake County Fielders (also of the North American League) in 2011.
The new management promoted Brian Daubach, who became the hitting coach of the Nashua Pride during the second half of 2008, to manage the team.
Smith became involved with USA Baseball in 1999 as hitting coach on the 1999 Professional Team at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Canada (Silver, Olympic qualifiers).
Smith also served as hitting coach for Team USA during the 2006 World Baseball Classic, and served as hitting coach for the Bronze medal winning USA Baseball Olympic team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
He also was the hitting coach on the United States national baseball team in the 2008 Olympics.
The 2006 season marked his 18th year as a major league or minor league hitting coach, and his fourth with the Boston Red Sox.
