Indonesia Open Paragliding Championship is one of the world championship series which it was the first Indonesia Open held in the region on 19–25 June 2011.
AA is the first news agency in Turkey to employ a photojournalist holding a paragliding license and it is also the first that went 630 meters down below the surface in a coal mine in Zonguldak, Turkey, for photographing.
Other attractions over the summer months include numerous activities such as windsurfing and sailing (on nearby Lake Geneva), white-water rafting, kayaking, paragliding, walking or simply relaxing in the sun.

An FAI category two paragliding competition is organized annually by the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation at Bir-Billing (31 km from Jogindernagar) in the month of October or November.
Mayrhofen sits between the Penken and the Ahorn mountains which provide ski runs in the winter and mountain biking, hiking and paragliding in the summer.
Mountain-biking is also popular, and "Kalinovka" (informally called "the Jug"), located in the Gulf of Kairy is a popular paragliding site.
