Jon Blundy FRS (born 1961), Professor of Petrology in the University of Bristol
Brezinaite was named in honour of Aristides Brezina (1848–1909), a past Director of the Mineralogy-Petrology Section of the Natural History Museum, Vienna, Austria.
He lists sport, running and swimming as well as History of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani literature and music among his interests and Mineralogy, Petrology, Geochemistry, Paleobiochemistry and natural deposits as research areas.
Ekhard Salje completed his University Teacher’s Dissertation in 1972, and by 1983 was the Head of Department at the Institute for Crystallography and Petrology at the University of Hanover.
In later years he devoted himself largely to petrology, and published memoirs on the trachytes of Hungary and Transylvania; on a new method of determining the species of feldspars in rocks, depending on fusibility and flame-coloration; on the geology and petrology of the district of Schemnitz; and on Santorin Island.
