The natural vegetation chosen consists of feathery pampas grass, Brazilian pepper (schinnis terrebinthus) tree with small leaves, ribbon gum, Turkey oak, eucalyptus and poplars.
The tulip tree is sometimes referred to as "tulip poplar" or "yellow poplar", and the wood simply as "poplar", although Liriodendron is not closely related to the true poplars either.
The beetles overwinter under the bark of trees, mostly poplars, elms, plane, oak and horse chestnut.
