The French composer Thérèse Brenet (Prix de Rome in 1965) wrote a work for concert band named for this asteroid, which was premièred in Paris in 2003 by the Musique de L'armée de Terre in Paris.
He progressed so far in his studies that in 1812 he won the Prix de Rome.

1881 and 1883 saw his first successes, when he twice won the second prize in the prix de Rome contest, for his Tyrtaeus singing the Messanians (Tyrtée chantant les Messéniennes) and Diagoras dying for joy on learning of his two victorious children's triumph at the Olympic Games (Diagoras mourant de joie en apprenant le triomphe de ses deux enfants vainqueurs aux Jeux Olympiques) respectively.
A student of David, he won the Prix de Rome in 1793 with "Brutus, killed in battle, is brought back to Rome", and in 1798 with a painting on the theme of "Battle of the Horatii and the Curiatii".
She has been awarded the Prix de Rome, and other awards from the Besançon Composition Competition for orchestra in France, the Contemporary Music Contest "Citta' di Udine" in Italy, Composition Competition of GRAME in Lyon, Gaudeamus Competition in Amsterdam and International Society of Contemporary Music Cash Young Composer's Award.
He was Father of the architect and Grand Prix de Rome winner in 1912, Jacques Debat-Ponsan, and grandfather of Michel Debré, who became Prime Minister under General Charles de Gaulle and was one of the drafters of the Fifth Republic.
Roger Bellon earned his Bachelor Of Music Composition degree from the Berklee College of Music, studying under music legends Gary Burton, Mike Gibbs and Herb Pomeroy among others and completed postgraduate studies in Composition and Conducting, under Pierre Petit (Grand Prix De Rome) at the École Normale de Musique de Paris, Paris.
While there she met another Prix de Rome winner, the French sculptor Ulysse Gémignani and they married.
