In 1991, Marvelwood students voted on the school's first-ever mascot and chose the Pterodactyl in an effort to stand out from other schools.

Aurorazhdarcho

In 1999 amateur paleontologist Peter Katschmekat uncovered a fossil of a pterosaur in the Blumenberg Quarry, three kilometres northwest of Eichstätt, in layers of the Solnhofen limestone.

Azhdarchidae

Azhdarchidae (from اژدرها (Aždarha), the Persian word for dragon) is a family of pterosaurs known primarily from the late Cretaceous Period, though an isolated vertebrae apparently from an azhdarchid is known from the early Cretaceous as well (late Berriasian age, about 140Ma ago).

Diamantinasaurus

The Winton Formation had a faunal assemblage including bivalves, gastropods, insects, the lungfish Metaceratodus, turtles, the crocodilian Isisfordia, pterosaurs, and several types of dinosaurs, such as the theropod Australovenator, the sauropod Wintonotitan, and unnamed ankylosaurians and hypsilophodonts.

Herbstosaurus

In 1978 John Ostrom, while reviewing the relations of Compsognathus, concluded that these qualities were best explained by the hypothesis that Herbstosaurus was not a dinosaur but a pterosaur, for which such proportions are normal.

Kongamato

The Kongamato ("breaker of boats") is a reported pterosaur-like creature said to have been seen by the people of and explorers in the Mwinilunga district's Jiundu swamps of Western Zambia, Angola and Congo.

Laopteryx

In 1986 however, the fossil was restudied by John Ostrom who concluded that Laopteryx was a pterosaur.

Muzquizopteryx

In the nineties José Martínez Vásquez, a worker at the chalk quarry of El Rosario, uncovered a skeleton of a pterosaur.

Nurhaci

The genus Nurhachius, a pterodactyloid pterosaur, is named after Nurhaci.

Paleogene

Birds, which were already well established by the end of the Cretaceous, also experienced an adaptive radiation as they took over the skies left empty by the now extinct Pterosaurs.

Pricesaurus

In 1986, Rafael Gioia Martins-Neto in a lecture during the 38th Reunião Anual da Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência at São Paulo, reported the find of a pterosaur, that he named Pricesaurus megalodon.

Primal Prey

Each episode contains several missions that allows the player to either hunt or trap eight dinosaur species and one pterosaur:(Tyrannosaurus, Utahraptor, Troodon, Gastonia, Triceratops, Styracosaurus, Iguanodon, Lambeosaurus and Quetzalcoatlus).

Saurophthirus

It was 2.50 cm (1 in) long and possibly sucked the blood of pterosaurs in the Cretaceous, in the way that bat fleas feed on bat blood today.

Smoky Hill Chalk

Large well-known fossils excavated from the Smoky Hill Chalk include marine reptiles such as plesiosaurs, large bony fish such as Xiphactinus, mosasaurs, flying reptiles or pterosaurs (namely Pteranodon), flightless marine birds such as Hesperornis, and turtles.

Turok: Evolution

Tal'Set escapes on his pterosaur and rushes to Galyana, where he stops the Brachiosaurus artillery from destroying Galyana's walls and then evicts the Slegs from the premises.

Vocal Performances

The first track, "Petrified", argues that evolutionary thinking and Latin nomenclature have poorly captured the charm and dignity of dinosaurs such as the Haplocanthosaur, Pterosaur and Archaeopteryx.

Wintonotitan

The Winton Formation had a faunal assemblage including bivalves, gastropods, insects, the lungfish Metaceratodus, turtles, the crocodilian Isisfordia, pterosaurs, and several types of dinosaurs, such as the theropod Australovenator, the sauropod Diamantinasaurus, and unnamed ankylosaurians and hypsilophodonts.
