Ahmad Zaidi Adruce

Since his unique birth in a boat along the Rajang River, the longest river in Malaysia and the pride of Sarawak, Ahmad Zaidi has traveled a long way.

He was also remembered as the first Sarawakian Bumiputera to receive a MA Degree from a British university (University of Edinburgh), a huge achievement for the people of Sarawak, as it was under British rule at the time.

The idea of the North Kalimantan was originally proposed by Azahari, who had forged links with Sukarno's nationalist movement, together with Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, in Java in the 1940s.
