After the disband of the brilliant English Shoegaze band Slowdive, former group member Christian Savill who played guitar in Slowdive formed Monster Movie in 2000.

Many former fans of Slowdive found that Neil Halstead had changed his musical direction to folk music which disappointed them.

On the other hand, Monster Movie have done better in superseding Slowdive by simplifying its genre.

Previously, former vocal and guitar Neil Halstead had started Mojave 3 and released 2 albums.

Butorac partnered with Harsh Mankad and Zovko with Dušan Vemić, but they all lost in the first round (Butorac/Mankad was eliminated by Denis Gremelmayr and Björn Phau, Vemić/Zovko was eliminated by Johan Brunström and Lukáš Rosol).
It has also been the only election (apart from the ministerial by-elections in December 1901) where over half a Ministry have been defeated at an election—apart from Mitchell, Hubert Parker, John Scaddan and John Lindsay all lost their parliamentary seats.
