Architectural conservation

Two of the main proponents of preservation and conservation in the 19th century were art critic John Ruskin and artist William Morris.

The phrase covers a wide span of activities, from the cleaning of the interior or exterior of a building — such as is currently underway at St Paul's Cathedral in London — to the rebuilding of damaged or derelict buildings, such as the restoration of the Windsor Great Hall in Windsor Castle after a destructive fire in 1992.

German Apsara Conservation Project

The students from Phnom Penh participate in courses of stone conservation and some of them have written their diploma theses with the joint supervision of the Royal University of Fine Arts and the GACP consultants.

Massachusetts Historical Commission

It consists of 17-member panel of appointed representatives from state and private agencies and is concerned with overview of Massachusetts historic and architectural preservation efforts.

National Museum of Denmark

Skansen Bridge

In 2006 the bridge was conserved by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage, since Skansen Bridge is unique in Norway and only one of a few of its kind left in the world.
