Bellot baronets

It was created on 30 June 1663 for John Bellot of Great Moreton Hall, near Astbury, Cheshire, who was High Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1661.

Francis Haskins Eyles-Stiles

He married, probably about 1735, Sibella Egerton (baptised 1 December 1711 at Astbury, Cheshire), daughter of the Rev. Philip Egerton, D.D., Rector of Astbury, by Frances, daughter of John Offley.


Fun-Da-Mental

He first came to public attention playing drums with Ian Astbury's (at the time going by the name Ian Lindsay) band Southern Death Cult (who, after Qureshi's departure, eventually evolved into The Cult).

Nine Black Alps

The band consists of Sam Forrest (vocals, guitar), David Jones (guitar), James Galley (drums) and Karl Astbury (bass).

Staffordshire Potteries

However, the boom came after the discovery in 1720 by potter John Astbury of Shelton, that by adding heated and ground flint powder to the local reddish clay could create a more palatable white or cream ware.
