The 3.7 L (3670 cc/223 inĀ³) engine, designed by Tadek Marek, was a double overhead cam straight-6, with cylinder head and block of cast R.R.50 aluminium alloy.
The DBR2 engine (after changes) was subsequently used in the DB4, DB5, DB6 and DBS.
